Core Parameters for Fan Purchase and Pitfall Avoidance Guide

When purchasing a fan, it is necessary to pay attention to core parameters to ensure use effect and durability, while avoiding common misunderstandings and blind consumption. One of the core parameters is motor power: motor power directly affects the fan's air supply capacity and energy consumption. The power of ordinary household fans is usually between 30-60W. The higher the power, the farther the air supply distance and the larger the air volume, but the energy consumption is also relatively higher. When purchasing, choose according to the use scenario: a 30-40W fan is sufficient for small spaces (such as bedrooms and studies); a 40-60W fan can be chosen for large spaces (such as living rooms and offices) to ensure air supply coverage. It should be noted that higher power is not necessarily better, and demand and energy saving should be balanced.

Blade-related parameters are also crucial: the number of blades is usually 3-7. Three-blade fans have large air volume and relatively high noise, suitable for scenarios where large air volume is pursued; five or more blades provide more uniform air supply and lower noise, suitable for scenarios with high comfort requirements. For blade materials, priority should be given to ABS engineering plastic and PC materials. These materials are lightweight, high-strength, not easy to deform, and have low wind resistance during rotation, with higher energy efficiency; avoid choosing ordinary plastic blades with brittle materials, which are prone to aging and cracking after long-term use. Blade diameter affects the air supply range. The blade diameter of household fans is usually between 30-45cm. The larger the diameter, the wider the air supply coverage, suitable for large spaces.

Wind speed and speed regulation method: it is recommended to choose 3 or more wind speed gears to meet the needs of different scenarios; fans supporting stepless speed regulation have more flexible adjustment and higher comfort. For the speed regulation method, electronic speed regulation is preferred. Compared with inductive speed regulation, electronic speed regulation is more energy-saving and the wind speed switching is smoother. In addition, the timing function is a practical parameter. The timing range is usually 1-12 hours. Fans supporting long-time timing are more suitable for night use to avoid running all night.

Safety and additional functions: the mesh size of the protection net should be moderate (it is recommended that the mesh diameter ≤1cm) to prevent children's fingers from reaching in; the mesh wire material should be firm to avoid deformation. For families with the elderly and children, bladeless fans are a safer choice. Additional functions can be selected according to needs, such as negative ion function (improving air quality), remote control function (convenient operation), intelligent networking function (remote control), etc. However, it should be noted that the more additional functions, the higher the price usually. Avoid paying a premium for unnecessary functions.

Pitfall avoidance guide: First, avoid only looking at power and ignoring energy efficiency. Some fans have high power but low energy efficiency, and high power consumption per unit air volume, which is not cost-effective for long-term use. Choose products with high energy efficiency grades (level 1 or 2); second, do not blindly pursue multiple gears. If only low and medium gears are needed for daily use, too many gears will increase operational complexity; third, be wary of "mute publicity". When purchasing, check the actual noise test data (it is recommended to be ≤50dB) and listen on site to avoid excessive noise after purchase; fourth, do not ignore after-sales service. Choose products with a longer warranty period (usually 1-2 years) to facilitate subsequent maintenance.
