Safe Use Specifications and Hazard Avoidance of Fans
Mar 05,2026
The safe use of fans is crucial to ensuring personal and property safety. Relevant specifications must be strictly followed in daily use to avoid potential hazards. First, the safety of power supply use is the foundation: a power socket matching the rated voltage of the fan must be used. Avoid using damaged or aging power cords or sockets. Ensure good contact when inserting the plug into the socket, and do not plug or unplug it forcefully to prevent electric sparks from causing short circuits or fires. If the fan has problems such as damaged power cords or electric leakage, stop using it immediately, prohibit disassembly and maintenance by yourself, and contact professionals for handling to prevent electric shock accidents.
Secondly, safety protection during use cannot be ignored: when the fan is running, the blades are in a high-speed rotating state. It is strictly prohibited to insert hands, fingers, or other objects into the blade protection net. Especially for children and pets, supervision must be strengthened to avoid accidental contact and injury. When installing the fan, the floor fan should be placed on a stable and solid ground, avoiding inclined or smooth surfaces to prevent tipping; the ceiling fan installation must ensure that the hook is firm and reliable, capable of bearing the weight of the fan (usually the ceiling fan weight is 5-15kg). After installation, check if there is any shaking to avoid falling during operation. Although tower fans and bladeless fans have no exposed blades, it is also necessary to avoid blocking the air outlet to prevent motor overheating due to poor air circulation.
Special attention should be paid to safe use in special scenarios: waterproof fans dedicated to humid environments such as bathrooms and kitchens should be used. Ordinary fans are strictly prohibited from being used in humid environments, because humidity will reduce the insulation performance of the motor and cause electric leakage risks; when used outdoors, fans with waterproof and sun protection functions should be selected to avoid rainwater entering the motor or parts aging due to exposure to the sun. In addition, if the fan makes abnormal noise, has an unusual smell, or the body overheats during operation, immediately cut off the power, stop using it, and check the cause of the fault. Do not continue to operate to prevent motor burnout or fire.
Children should be accompanied by adults when using fans. Avoid children adjusting the wind speed, disassembling the fan, or playing with the power cord by themselves. When the fan is not in use, cut off the power and store it in a dry and ventilated place. Avoid long-term storage in a humid environment to prevent parts from rusting. At the same time, do not place heavy objects or cover debris on the fan to avoid affecting heat dissipation or causing the fan to tip over, leading to potential safety hazards. In addition, regularly check if the grounding of the fan is good (three-phase plug fans need to ensure normal grounding). Poor grounding may cause failure to conduct current in time in case of electric leakage, increasing the risk of electric shock.
